Review of Return of the Golden Age By Jennie S. Bev, Managing Editor, BookReviewClub.com I truly enjoyed Marilyn Peake’s Return of the Golden Age. This final book of The Fisherman’s Son trilogy is more than engaging. Its realism and surrealism elements are genuine and breathtaking. Under the sea has been transformed into a magical place, thanks to the author’s impressive story-telling skills. Like the other two earlier books, this one also speaks about friendship, determination, courage and survival. At the same time, the backdrop of this book is filled with mystery, adventure, magic, illusion, and possibility. As a children’s book, this is the one any parent would want on their bookshelves. In addition to the engaging plots, incredibly beautiful and interesting backdrop, it is also a great book to instill good reading habits. Some complex words, such as incandescent, labyrinthine and bioluminescent, would be intriguing to children and would definitely increase their vocabularies. At last, I’ve become a great fan of author Marilyn Peake and her books. Perhaps someday there will be “The Fisherman’s Son” trilogy movie, just like “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy. Rating:
